I'm not very good at resolutions, because once I break them I figure it's over and they fall by the wayside. So this year I have some small goals that I hope to implement by 2017. We'll see how it goes!
1. Come up with a meal plan schedule.
Right now for meal planning I sit down every week and just come up with stuff. I would like to create something with more structure so it's easier to follow. This last week my parents and I went to the USS Midway in San Diego and learned that the Navy had a twenty-one meal rotation. That seems doable. Although the Navy also had 80 gallon pots, and I think I will stay away from those.
2. Actually using cloth grocery bags
I hate having plastic bags cluttering up my house, but I am terrible at remembering the cloth ones. The goal is to make this a habit, and only get plastic ones when I need garbage bags for our bathroom trash can, because I will not be turning down free garbage bags, ever.
3. Not get any library fines
This one might be impossible, since I NEVER remember to consistently turn in library books on time. This is true even when I WORKED AT THE LIBRARY (I've worked at three. Gotten fines--sometimes substantial fines--every time). But I'm going to make a very determined effort this year. I've already failed pretty badly, because I forgot to renew a lot of books in the moving shuffle, but that's why it's a goal.
So those are my three little goals. If I can succeed my life will be a little smoother, cleaner, and richer. If I fail, at least the library will still be getting money. If you've mastered any of these things, I would love some tips!
